ILLINOIS NURSES FOUNDATION SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS; APPLY BY SEPTEMBER 10, 2023

 

 

The Illinois Nurses Foundation is seeking interested and qualified candidates to serve on our board of directors. The deadline for candidates to apply is September 10, 2023 at 11:45 at 5 p.m.

 

The purpose of the Illinois Nurses Foundation (INF) is to promote the health of the public by advancing the nursing profession in Illinois through charitable, scientific research, and educational programs.

 

Led by (an elected/appointed) the Board of Directors, the Foundation ensures the accomplishment of its purpose through scholarships, research grants and education regarding health issues & nursing. Based upon these initiatives, the Foundation supports the future of nursing in Illinois and assists in safeguarding quality, evidence-based nursing care for patients in Illinois.

 

Board Responsibilities:

1. Reflects a personal commitment to the goals of the Foundation
2. Regularly participates in various phases of the Foundation’s initiatives:
   1. Fiscal responsibility for the organization.
      1. Being aware, understanding, and approving of the organizational budget
      2. Responsibility for oversight and implementation of policies and programs.
      3. Understand and abide by the INF bylaws and policies.
   2. Promotes scholarships, research, and education regarding health issues & nursing
   3. Supports foundation staff
   4. Accepts appointment to at least one (1) committee of the Board
3. Engage in fundraising efforts and personal philanthropy to the INF through an annual contribution, either personally or via solicitation from others
4. Completes annual compliance forms: Board Conflict of Interest, Confidential Disclosure Statement, Board Statement of Understanding, and yearly self-evaluation.
5. Regularly attends scheduled Foundation Board meetings
   1. Support the organization through attending at least one INF event per year.
