Haley Beach, RN, BSN

For Haley Beach, nursing has always been about learning, leading, and making a difference. From beginning her college education while still in high school to becoming a respected nurse leader and advocate for patient safety, her career has been defined by a commitment to continuous growth and serving others. As a 2026 Illinois Nurses Foundation 40 Under 40 Awardee, Haley continues to inspire those around her by fostering confidence, championing safety, and empowering the next generation of nurses.

A Passion for Learning

Haley’s educational journey began long before most of her peers. Through a dual-enrollment program, she earned her Associate of Science degree from Rock Valley College the day before receiving her high school diploma. That early start ignited a lifelong passion for learning and professional development that continues to shape her nursing career.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University, Haley joined Advocate Sherman Hospital’s Cardiac Care Unit, where she has embraced a variety of leadership roles, including Relief Charge Nurse, Relief Nursing Supervisor, primary unit educator, simulation facilitator, preceptor, and Chair of the Education and Professional Development Council. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing in Executive Leadership through Chamberlain University, further preparing herself to lead and strengthen the nursing profession.

Leading Through Knowledge and Compassion

Haley is passionate about supporting both patients and fellow nurses. Whether mentoring new nurses, facilitating simulation-based education, leading a clinical team, or providing bedside care, she strives to create an environment where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.

She believes that confidence, critical thinking, and collaboration are essential to delivering exceptional patient care. By investing in the growth of others, Haley is helping cultivate future nurse leaders who are prepared to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.

Speaking Up to Make a Difference

One of the defining moments of Haley’s career came during a rapid response when she identified a critical medication safety concern involving missing administration instructions for intramuscular glucagon. Rather than assuming someone else would address the issue, she spoke up, prompting a system-wide review and corrective action across Advocate Health.

That experience reinforced her belief that meaningful change often begins with a single voice. Whether improving patient safety, mentoring a colleague, or refining a clinical process, Haley understands that even small actions can create lasting improvements for patients, nurses, and healthcare organizations alike.

Recognized with a Nursing Excellence Award for Exemplary Professional Practice, Haley remains grateful for the mentors who have supported her throughout her journey. She is committed to paying that support forward by helping other nurses grow in confidence, competence, and leadership while continuing to advocate for safer, stronger healthcare systems.

The Illinois Nurses Foundation proudly recognizes Haley Beach as a 2026 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader Awardee for her dedication to nursing leadership, patient safety, professional development, and empowering others through education and advocacy. Her commitment to continuous improvement continues to strengthen the nursing profession and improve the care of patients across Illinois.
