The Illinois Nurses Foundation invites nominations for the 2026 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader Awards. This marks the 12th year of recognizing Illinois nurses under age 40 who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and meaningful impact in nursing practice, education, research, and administration.
These awards honor nurses who extend their influence beyond daily responsibilities. Honorees improve patient care, support colleagues, and strengthen communities through leadership and service.
Who should you nominate.
- A registered nurse under age 40.
- Licensed and practicing in Illinois.
- Recognized by peers for leadership and measurable impact.
- Nominees must be less than 40 on the date of the event.
How to nominate.
- Complete the online nomination form.
- Provide professional background and leadership examples.
- Submit all required information through the awards portal.
- Nominations close at 12am April 16th.
