Jamie’s recent completion of her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University reflects her dedication to advancing her expertise in patient care strategies and healthcare leadership. Her career includes experience in critical care and patient education, where she has consistently demonstrated her passion for making a positive difference in diverse healthcare settings.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jamie stepped up as a leader, guiding teams in high-pressure crisis situations to improve patient outcomes and ensure that staff were well-prepared. Her proactive approach to creating comprehensive care plans for high-risk patients and implementing tailored educational programs significantly enhanced patient understanding, disease management, and quality of care.

In her current role as Clinical Nurse Educator and Health Educator at Esperanza Health Centers, Jamie has developed and implemented disease management protocols that have led to remarkable improvements in patient and staff outcomes. She designs personalized care plans and adjusts medications to help patients achieve optimal disease control, boosting the quality of care across the board. She is a board member and committee chair for the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) and the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations, where she advocates for underserved populations and promotes health equity on a national scale. At the state level, Jamie serves on the NAHN-Illinois chapter board, coordinating membership meetings, leading the media committee, and promoting chapter events and achievements.

She champions the All of Us Research Program through NAHN-IL, an initiative by the National Institutes of Health focused on advancing precision medicine and reducing health disparities among minority populations.
